You can access QuickMixHost email using webmail, or standard email applications such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird and Apple Mail or even from your smart phone (call for details).

Your QuickMixHost basic email account include a 1GB limit for temporary storage and webmail use. Most POP configurations download a copy of the message to your computer and delete it from the server.

When using the instructions below, QuickMixHost.com recommends following the directions for a secure connection to the server, particularly for wifi users.

Mac OS X Mail

The following steps will help you set up your account as an IMAP or POP account.

  1. Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
  2. Choose Preferences from the Mail menu.
  3. Under the Accounts button, click on the email account you want to edit.
  4. On the Account Information screen, change Incoming Mail Server to mail.quickmixhost.com
  5. In the Outgoing Mail Server dropdown menu, select Edit SMTP Server List
  6. Under the list of servers on the left, click the '+' button.
  7. On the Account Information screen, enter a Description of QuickMixHost and a server name of mail.quickmixhost.com
  8. Click on the Advanced button. Select the checkbox for Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and choose Password from the Authentication dropdown menu. Click OK.
  9. Make sure the Outgoing Mail Server has QuickMixHost displayed.
  10. Click on the Advanced button. Select the Use SSL checkbox.
  11. Close the window and save your changes.

Microsoft Outlook 2002 / 2003

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose E-mail Accounts.
  3. Select View or change existing email accounts, and then click Next.
  4. Select your existing email account, and then click Change.
  5. Under Server Information, change the Incoming mail server (POP3) text box to mail.quickmixhost.com
  6. Under Server Information, change the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box to mail.quickmixhost.com
  7. Click the Advanced tab. If you would like to use a secure connection to the mail.quickmixhost.com servers, enable both of the options for "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)". The Incoming mail (POP3) port number should be set to 995, and the Outgoing server (SMTP) set to 465.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Close the Internet Accounts window.

Microsoft Outlook 2007

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose Account Settings.
  3. In the Email tab, select existing email accounts, and then click Change.
  4. Under Server Information, change the Incoming mail server (POP3) text box to mail.quickmixhost.com
  5. Under Server Information, change the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box to mail.quickmixhost.com
  6. Enable the checkbox for "Remember password".
  7. Click the More Settings... button.
  8. Click the Advanced tab. If you would like to use a secure connection to the mail.quickmixhost.com servers, enable the checkbox for "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)". For a POP3 account, the Incoming mail port number should be set to 995, and the Outgoing server (SMTP) set to 465.
  9. Click OK.

Microsoft Outlook Express 6

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts. On the right side of the window, click Properties.
  3. Choose the Servers Tab. Enter mail.quickmixhost.com as your Incoming mail server and as your Outgoing mail server.
  4. Enable the checkbox for "My server requires authentication."
  5. Click the Advanced tab. If you would like to use a secure connection to the mail.quickmixhost.com servers, enable both of the options for "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)". The Incoming mail (POP3) port number should be set to 995, and the Outgoing server (SMTP) set to 465.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Close the Internet Accounts window.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird.
  2. From the Tools menu, choose Account Settings.
  3. Click Server Settings in the left-hand list.
  4. Change the Server Name to mail.quickmixhost.com
  5. If you would like to use a secure connection (recommended), select the radio button for SSL under Security Settings.
  6. Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the left-hand list.
  7. Click Edit and enter QuickMixHost for a description and mail.quickmixhost.com as the Server Name. Port number should be 995 for secure POP3.
  8. Under Security and Authentication Use name and password should be checked. If you wish to use a secure connection (recommended), select the radio button for SSL. Port number should be 465 for secure SMTP. Click OK.
  9. Click OK to close the window and save the settings.

Microsoft Windows Vista Mail

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.
  2. Highlight your mail account and click Properties.
  3. Under Server Information, change the Incoming mail server (POP3) text box to mail.quickmixhost.com
  4. Under Server Information, change the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text box to mail.quickmixhost.com
  5. Click the Advanced tab. If you would like to use a secure connection to the email servers, enable both of the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" options. The Incoming mail (POP3) port number should be 995, and the Outgoing server (SMTP) should be port 465.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Close the Internet Accounts window.
