Get Out for a Walk

By: Craig Hermanson
LockeStreet.com Coordinator

24 April 2003: Three architectural walking tours are coming up in our neighbourhood. Get out there and enjoy the spring weather as you learn more about why this is such a great area.

The Mansions of Durand: 27 April 2003 at 2PM
The first is a tour with stops and discussions outside the grand old homes on some of Hamilton's most prestigious streets such as Inglewood, Ballinahinch and Ravenscliffe. The tour starts at 2PM at Durand Park, corner of Charleton and Park.

10th and 11th May 2003: 10AM to 4PM.
Next is the Fourth Annual Studio Walking Tour brought to us by the Hamilton Southwest Artists. Over two days, eight studios will present the work of eighteen artists. Begin at any studio and cover as many as you choose. More information and maps are available here.

Up and Down Locke Street South: 8 June 2003 at 2PM
And finally, Ann and Bill Manson, authors of Up and Down Locke Street (Bill is also a LockeStreet.com contributor with his History Bytes) will be lead a walk and discussion of history, geography and architecture of Locke Street South.
