Volunteering for Super Environment
Day: September 21, 2002
By: Richard Palmer, Kirlendall North Neighbourhood Watch
14 September 2002: A Super Environment Day is scheduled
for September 21, 2002 at McMaster University.
This is an opportunity for residents of the Kirkendall North Neighbourhood
to drop off a variety of wastes including hazardous waste, computers,
metal and tires, as well as, pick-up items such as free compost
and blue boxes.
There was great public participation with approximately 1500 vehicles
driving through each of the Spring events located at Mohawk College
and Bayfront Park.
Kirkendall North Neighbourhood Watch has been asked to help out
with volunteers for this great event.
The type of work ranges from traffic control to handing out blue
boxes. Lunch and refreshments will be provided as will any required
safety equipment. The event is a great opportunity to actively participate
in waste management and be "Environmentally Friendly"!
Please e-mail to nw@lockestreet.com
if you are able to help.
Sincerely,
Richard Palmer, Kirlendall North Neighbourhood Watch Assistant Coordinator
