Locke Street Festival 2008

First held in 2000, the Locke Street Festival is an annual event with local merchants, guest vendor stalls, live entertainment, food, children's activities and everything you need for a fun-filled family day out.

The 2008 festival will be held on September 6th, starting at 10:00 am.

The Locke Street Festival is being held on Saturday September 6th this year and will run from 10 am to 7 pm with local entertainment until 11 pm.

FILL A BUS AND FEED A FAMILY AT THE LOCKE STREET FESTIVAL!

As part of the Locke St. Festival, the Kirkendall Neighbourhood Association will be collecting non-perishable food items to support Mission Services’ Food Bank. Please bring your donations directly to the HSR bus that will be parked near St. Joseph’s School and drop off a donation to help feed Hamilton’s needy families.

If you are interested in being a vendor at the festival you can download the application or send the festival vendor committee an email with your name and address requesting an application.

What Would You Like to See on Locke Street South in the Future?

Changes up and down the street have led many to discuss what kind of future they envision for Locke Street. From "No Hess on Locke" posters to those who advocate a future with more restaurants, pubs and patios, our community is activily discussing the future direction of Locke.

Councillor McHattie and Melrose United Church have co-sponsored two discussions on the future of Locke Street. The rusults of these discussions have been posted to BrianMchattie.com.

A Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe

The Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal invites you to attend a public information session on the government's vision for growth in the Greater Golden Horseshoe.

On July 12, the government released a discussion paper entitled: Places to Grow:  Better Choices.  Brighter Future. It sets out a vision and strategic direction for managing growth and infrastructure investment in the region over the next 30 years. The discussion paper outlines the government's approach to where and how the region can grow while protecting what's valuable.
